Between September 17th and 28th, 2018, the ESRs have been to Luleå for attending the 3rd network wide training on geometallurgy. Besides lectures and exercises on ore characterization, analyses and testwork as well as geometallurgical modelling, the ESRs have been working with the serious game “Challenge Geometallurgy!”, developed at LTU and provided online by the consortium partner Outotec (www.outotec.com). The aim of this assignment is to go through all the steps of a geometallurgical programme in order to identify optimal mining methods and beneficiation processes. Results from this exercise are to be summarized in a report followed by a review.
During the second week, the ESRs also spent some time on making own movies of their respective PhD project. First, a short course on the technical aspects of making movies with the mobile phone was given by Mera film i Luleå AB (merafilm.nu), followed by a movie-making session.
