Overfloat is an educational game aiming to teach the performance calculations of a flotation process. It was developed in Unity3D using surrogate models which replicate the particle’s recovery calculations of a HSC chemistry model. With the help of the process simulation and an instructor tutoring system, the user can learn and practice knowledge and skills related to flotation in a much more engaging environment than the ones provided by traditional learning methods. The game has a special focus on the basic performance calculations such as concentration ratio and metal recovery but also presents the components of flotation cell and the composition of its streams.
